The problem
The internet runs on opinions about people, projects and ideas. None of them has a price.
A prediction market needs an event, an end date and a judge. Most opinions have none of the three.
Where opinions go today
- Posts are free — and worth nothing. Being early and right about someone pays nothing. A take is just a post.
- Prediction markets need an ending. “Will X happen by Friday?” can be listed. “Is X overrated?” never resolves, so it can’t.
- Memecoins only go one way. You can buy attention. You can’t bet against it and get paid when you’re right.
R8 gives any opinion two sides, a live price and no end date.
